How it works!

Commissioning is the process by which an Artist creates a work of art on a Client’s request. Requesting a custom, commissioned artwork provides the unique opportunity for a Client to own artwork specifically created for them. The Client will choose the subject they would like the Artist to create into an original artwork. Once the subject, timeframe and size has been confirmed and the 50% deposit has been paid, the Artist will send the Client sketches for approval before beginning the final artwork. The Client will receive "work in progress" photographs of their commissioned artwork during production. Upon completion within the agreed timeframe, the remaining 50% will be due before delivery/collection.

It’s important to remember that commissioning an artist is a unique process and Clients must allow for creative freedom and gage expectations accordingly.

• All original artworks are created using the highest quality pigment liners onto 220gsm medium surface drawing paper.

Collection or Delivery

Completed artworks can be collected from 20 Albert Street, Newton Stewart free of charge.

If the Client lives within close range of Newton Stewart, delivery by the Artist may be arranged.

The cost for shipping via a courier within the UK is dependent on the size of the completed artwork but will never exceed £15.

International shipping costs may vary, please get in touch if you have any questions.

Payment is accepted via:

*Please note that a nonrefundable deposit of 50% of the agreed selling price is required before the Artist will start the project. The remaining amount is due upon completion and approval of the work, before the delivery of the artwork.

Timeframe

The Artist and the Client will work together to come to an agreement on a suitable timeframe.

Right of Refusal

It is the intent of this agreement that the Artist create artwork(s) for the Client that the Client will purchase. However, if after the work is completed, the Client does not wish to purchase any or all of the work, the Client may refuse, on an individual basis, each created artwork. In that case, the Artist will retain the refused artwork and the nonrefundable deposit, free of any claims or interests of the Client and the Client will owe no additional fees to the Artist. A refusal will not affect the purchase price of other created artworks in this project.

Distribution and Copyright

The Artist reserves the common-law copyright to all works commissioned by the Client that are created by the Artist, including all reproduction rights and the right to claim statutory copyright. No work may be reproduced by the Client without the prior written approval of the Artist.
